NodePDX creates a time and a place for the Portland JavaScript community to share information, discuss ideas, and work together to improve the art and science of hacking.
We have two days of awesome engaging talks about JavaScript on the command-line, in the browser, or on a device, presented by some of the best JavaScript developers the West Coast has to offer.
We have created a dedicated space and filled half of our schedule with hands-on DIY electronics workshops working on JavaScript programmable hardware platforms.
Inclusiveness is extremely important. We keep the ticket prices cheap and present a mix of topics that will appeal to both the savvy developer or total n00b, and everyone in-between.
The first NodePDX was an authentic-yet-unpolished DIY experience. Held in the basement of a local co-working space, with on-site massage therapy, homemade lunches, and a mellow after-party at the bar next door. The success of this conference set everything else in motion...
The 2013 conference was a major step forward. With real sponsorship behind us, we rented an awesome venue, had a hardware hacking room, a dance party with a live band and a DJ, and numerous quad-coptors flying overhead, all set to disco lighting.
The 2016 conference featured a live band, food trucks, a ping-pong party, Geek Train, bike ride, two days of amazing talks, hands-on workshops, an on-site massage therapist, and a hardware hacking lab! Wow!!
The only thing we're sure about is that NodePDX is not over. We might be back in 2018, 2019, or maybe 2020... but we will be back!
